I created this artwork for Culture Strike's 2022 Movement to the Ballot Box campaign. I chose to center what fuels me—knowing that joy, please, & liberation is our birthright. It’s easy to get lost in the chaos of this world, especially when our rights are threatened. Remaining connected to my ungovernable spirit is key for me to thrive.

& who better to embody this? My sweet friend Gabby Rivera in all her glory, as the vessel for her soon-to-arrive baby, Santana Amalia. Butch mama willing her baby into this world with such intention & care. Surrounded by healing hands, herbs, & ancestors guidance. May baby Santana & all our kin always know that joy, pleasure, & liberation are their birthright.
